    Conference at a Glance

As the biosafety governance system rapidly improves, the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association (CPMA) 2026 Biosafety Academic Conference will grandly open in Kunming on October 16-18, 2026.

With the theme "Deep Integration, Full-Domain Prevention & Control: Building a More Resilient Biosafety System," the conference is hosted by the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association and the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China Academy of Preventive Medical Sciences), and co-organized by the Biosafety Branch of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, the Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention, the Institute for Communicable Disease Control and Prevention of China CDC, the Institute of Pathogen Biology of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the State Key Laboratory of Pathogen and Biosecurity, Kunming Medical University, and other institutions.

iGeneTech, a Chinese high-tech enterprise focused on developing and supplying technical solutions for the "reading" and "writing" of target genes, will also appear at this forum. iGeneTech owns three core underlying technology platforms with independent intellectual property rights — NGS probe hybridization, multiplex PCR, and high-throughput DNA synthesis — and has passed a number of compliant production quality management system certifications, including ISO 13485 and ISO 9001.

    Selected iGeneTech Products on Display

In the fields of infectious disease detection and biosafety monitoring, iGeneTech has built a core pathogen detection solution covering "identification and typing — whole-genome capture — automated library prep," based on its proprietary TargetSeq® in-solution probe hybridization capture sequencing technology and expert-level probe design and quality control software. This supports the routine monitoring and emergency response needs of disease control systems, customs quarantine services, hospital clinical laboratories, and livestock breeding enterprises.

    1. Integrated Solution for Microbial Identification and Typing: It not only meets the panel customization needs for identifying and typing infectious pathogenic microorganisms, ensuring pathogen coverage and improving detection sensitivity, but also shortens the turnaround time (TAT) to as little as 12 hours. The developed 1,358-pathogen identification panel covers the vast majority of common infectious pathogens encountered in clinical testing, providing strong support for the early identification and tracing of emerging and sudden infectious diseases.

    2. Integrated Solution for Whole-Genome Capture of Pathogenic Microorganisms: Covering the full workflow of sample pretreatment, library construction, hybridization capture, and post-run data analysis, more than 200 whole-genome capture panels for pathogenic microorganisms have been developed. These cover a variety of common pathogens associated with the respiratory, digestive, and immune systems. Paired with library construction and capture reagents compatible with multiple platforms, they help disease control and research personnel obtain high-coverage full-length pathogen sequences, serving key biosafety scenarios such as pathogen mutation monitoring, evolutionary tracing, and vaccine strain screening.

In addition, iGeneTech's self-developed automated workstation, the IGT-AS01 Automated Liquid Handling Workstation — a portable, modular NGS workstation pioneering "test-on-arrival" capability — works with dedicated pre-dispensed reagent strips to enable rapid, independent processing of single samples while flexibly scaling throughput through a multi-unit matrix. This fully meets laboratories' dual needs for operational flexibility and extremely short reporting cycles, greatly reducing manual operations and significantly shortening reporting turnaround.

    3. Integrated Solution for Animal and Plant Whole-Exome Chips

iGeneTech's animal and plant whole-exome product series now covers nearly 30 core species and combines three core advantages — excellent capture performance, high species adaptability, and support for flexible customization — providing genomics solutions that blend standardization with customization for agricultural breeding, gene function research, population genetics research, and other fields.
