TargetSeq® Cap Beads & Nuclease-Free Water is a reagent kit of streptavidin-coated magnetic beads and nuclease-free water for hybridization capture workflow. The cap beads are covalently coupled with a monolayer of recombinant streptavidin to the surface and further blocked with BSA.
Streptavidin on the magnetic beads specifically binds to biotin on the target probe, allowing efficient capture of the target region library bound to the probe in the hybridization capture workflow. The same high-affinity binding principle is also widely applied in streptavidin donor beads used for proximity-based assays. Additionally, variants such as streptavidin fluorescent beads enable visualization and detection in fluorescence-based capture workflows.
